Getting Books From Either Campus

The new and expanded Library at Brookhaven now has a circulating collection of books, in addition to reference books, reserve materials, and the video/dvd collection. Any student can ask that circulating materials be sent from one campus to the other.

If you are anywhere off campus, you can request an item be held for you at either location. If an item is checked out, you can request the item be held for you at either location. You may also request an available item from one location if you are at the other.

To place a hold, follow the procedure below:

  1. Find the item you want in the Library's catalog.
  2. At the top of the screen describing the item, click the Place Hold button.
  3. Enter your name and barcode.
  4. Select the appropriate Pickup Location.

If the item is currently checked out, it will be held for you when it is returned. Please be aware that you cannot place a hold on an available item which is housed at the location you are sending the request from. For example, you cannot use a computer in the Oakdale library to place a hold on an available item that is housed in Oakdale. Librarians can assist you in locating these items for immediate use.
