Library Instruction

The Library reference staff provides information instruction for all of Dowling College's courses. Classes (usually scheduled in the Academic Computer Center labs in Oakdale and Brookhaven) are designed to provide students a hands-on introduction to the Dowling Library catalog, course-related reference materials, periodical indexes, full-text databases, and/or Internet searching tools supportive of your research assignments. Reservations can be arranged by filling out a brief request form. As classes are customized to your specifications, please be prepared to submit a copy of your class syllabus and assignment upon request, and be sure to make arrangements at least one week in advance to allow preparation time for the presenter.
