Obituary

My wonderful, brilliant father, Charles T. Fray, passed away on March 26, 2008, in Seattle, Washington, where he retired in 1990. As his only child, I am proud to carry on his lifelong passion for our earth and its oceans. Fortunately for me, I also inherited his unparalleled integrity and courage, which he demonstrated with great honor in World War II (leading his troops at the Battle of the Bulge and liberating towns across France), as well as his ground-breaking oceanographic research around the world, and then with his truly inspiring teachings at several colleges on Long Island, NY. There’s no telling how many, many people’s lives have been made better for knowing him — none more than mine.

The world has lost a great man. I miss him very much!

With never-ending love from his very proud daughter - Nancy B. Fray
