Meeting with students is an important part of academia. While office hours are posted by office doors and included on syllabi, students don’t always remember that.
Providing students with a way to schedule an appointment with you online is another option. Using a service, such as https://youcanbook.me/ will open the door to that option. You create an account and link it to your Google calendar, and students can make appointments with you without having an account. The system works with your Google calendar so that it will automatically update your busy and free times within the time periods you have created for bookings. It will also place new appointments on your calendar.
The initial account is free. For an extra fee, it is possible to set up text-messaging reminders that will be sent out to the appointee. This helps to reduce missed appointments.
